Bought in for $20. we played two games last night. The first game was a good size game, 8 or 9 players. I played the same as last week, played kind of tight, loosened up at times. It seemed like every hand was raised up pre flop (bonnie and Jimmy are pretty aggressive pre flop) which made it harder to make a move at the pot, and also to defend my big blinds. Actually I ended up having to fold a lot of my BB.
Hand of the night:
I’m in early position with KK. I make it $5, folds to Fagone who calls. Flop comes down something like 4,6,7. I bet $5, Fagone calls. Turn comes a 3 with the possible straight draw and also makes three to a flush. I bet thinking Fagone’s probably got a pocket pair or AK and hoping he didn’t make a flush (I really didn’t think he made the straight), Fagone goes over the top putting me all in (for another $5 or so, at this point I’ve got most of my chips in the pot). I think “shit he HAS made something”. I know I should lay this hand down, I know I’m beat at this point, but after thinking about it I call. He shows 7,4…the same hand he knocked me out with TWICE heads-up last weekend (he called my pre flop raise because it was lucky hand). I know I need to either pair one of the two cards on the board that aren’t his pair, or catch a K. I’m thinking about having to reach into my wallet to buy back in when a K falls on the river! Sorry Fagone. Good hand.
The first game ends around 12:30am and I’m up $60. A handful of us willing to stay up late and playing more poker ( Fagone left after I broke him with trip 8s the last hand…so ok maybe I feel a little better about losing our two heads up games last weekend ;) ).
The second game ran till about 3am. I was catching crap hands and came down $20 for that game. There was a lot of loose drunken play (the classic Bonnie blind raise, which BT took on as well). Regardless of the fact that I couldn’t make anything happen for my stack, it was a lot of fun!).
Up $40 for the night.
